Waste StreamsA useful way of thinking of waste issues is to break waste down into categories - sometimes called waste 'streams'. For example, Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) refers to the waste produced by households and is an important waste stream. Managing MSW requires specialist strategies on account of its physical characteristics and its source. The same is true of other waste streams, hence the value in distinguishing between them.
