Litter Act Review

The Department of Environment and Conservation is currently drafting amendments to the Litter Act, it is anticipated that the Litter Act will be incorporated into the Environmental Protection Act. This has some implications for a proposed new “unlawful dumping” offence, the continuance of the existing Litter Act and Regulation offences and enforcement matters like appointment and powers of officers empowered to enforce.
