Federal Product Stewardship Scheme - End of Life Tyres


The Municipal Waste Advisory Council prepared a submission based on the recently released EPHC documents regarding Tyres.  This submission was sent in 11 July 2008.  Below are copies of the final submission: 

EPHC Tyre Documents
Environment Protection and Heritage Council (EPHC) has released a consultation package on tyres for comment.  The package relates to Product Stewardship options for end of life tyres.

The consultation package consists of:

- Draft Tyres Product Stewardship Agreement;
- Industry Scheme Brochure;
- Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement for End-of-life tyre management;
- Draft National Environment Protection (Tyres) Measure;
- Tyres NEPM Impact Statement; and
- Tyres NEPM Threshold Study.

Comments on the package was due Friday 11 July 2008.

Papers on Tyres

In a Presentation at Waste & Recycle 2006 Conference, then Minister for Environment Mark McGowan listed End of Life Tyres as a priority product in the 2006/07 Waste Management Board Business Plan. Following this, the Waste Management Board has released a series of Papers on Tyres.
