Information Session: Better Practice Approaches to Illegal Dumping

Date:               Monday, 13 August

Time:               2:00 – 4:00pm

Venue:             Boardroom, WALGA Offices, Level 1, ONE70 Railway Pde, West Leederville

The management of illegal dumping comes at a significant cost to Local Government. However, there is limited understanding of the collective impact illegal dumping has on the sector.

At this Information Session, Local Government officers tasked with managing illegal dumping are invited to explore opportunities to collaborate, and learn how better practice approaches have been implemented locally and interstate.

Representatives from Green Industries South Australia and SRA Information Technology will be sharing information and lessons learnt from the implementation of the Zero Waste Environment User System (ZEUS). This system has been operating successfully in South Australia for approximately 10 years and provides Local Governments with a platform to capture data on illegal dumping. Trends can be quickly identified across boundaries and the effectiveness of various interventions measured.

Limited places are available. Please register your attendance online by COB Thursday 9 August.

(Video conferencing facilities are available for regionally based officers)
