MWAC Report on NPC Mark I (PDF document 1.0 MB)

This report was produced in late 2003, in preparation for the anticipated renegotiation of the Covenant. It highlighted many operational and ideological problems with the Covenant and made many recommendations for its improvement. Most of these recommendations were not acted upon in the drafting of the Covenant Mark II.

Report published in September 2002 for the Municipal Waste Advisory Council. It investigated options to best manage litter in Western Australia (WA). Contains the "litter abatement path forwards" - a 3 year path to systematically developing a litter management strategy for WA.

Proactive Public Participation Strategy for IRR in WA (PDF document 572.8 kB)

Strategy released in July 2002. It was developed for the Municipal Waste Advisory Council to assist councils seeking public trust and engagement when pursuing potentially controvertial resource recovery projects.

Submission provided in November 2004, to the WA State Government on its proposed Household Hazardous and Chemical Waste Scheme. The Submission supports the intention to improve the management of this waste stream, but is critical about aspects of the Government's approach.

MWAC Submission on Draft Plastic Bag Litter Management Guidelines (PDF document 205.1 kB)

Submission provided in September 2004, on the Draft Guidelines for managing plastic bag litter in public places and around landfills. The primary objection raised was that the guidelines do nothing unless additional resources are dedicated to implementing those strategies not already in common usage.
