Household Hazardous Waste Program

The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program, funded through the Landfill Levy, will provide Local Governments with up to $1 million a year for the next three years to assist with the collection, storage and disposal of HHW.  The aim of the Program is to achieve the safe and certain storage and disposal of HHW and to obtain reliable data on the quantities and types of HHW collected in Western Australia.

What is A Household Hazardous Waste?

Household Hazardous Waste is household products that are no longer needed or have reached their end-of-life, which contain chemicals or substances that can be harmful to you, your children and/or pets, or the environment.  This may include a broad range of products that are flammable, toxic, explosive or corrosive.
