Better Bins Program

The Better Bins Program was developed by the Waste Authority, and is designed to assist Local Governments with implementing better practice kerbside collection systems as outlined in the Better Bins: Kerbside Collection Guidelines.

Charitable Recyclers Rebate

The Charitable Recycler Rebate Program was developed by the Waste Authority, and rebates the landfill levy paid by charitable recyclers on unusable material left at their facilities.

Community Grants Scheme

The Community Grants Scheme is operated by the Waste Authority, and is designed to support small scale community based projects that make an active contribution to the waste management and recycling in Western Australia. There are two rounds of grant funding available annually under the CGS.

Container Deposit Scheme

The Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) is an example of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) that is used as a mechanism for managing the impact of packaging materials. This Scheme provides a financial incentive that will encourage consumers to return eligible beverage containers to a refund point for recycling.

Local Government Waste and Recycling Census

Every Local Government in Western Australia must complete the Census annually in order to be eligible for funding from the Waste Authority.

Roads to Reuse pilot

The Roads to Reuse pilot supports Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) to use recycled Construction and Demolition (C&D) products in road construction. Formally known as the Recycled Construction Products Program, this initiative is designed to increase the use of recycled Construction and Demolition (C&D) materials in civil construction projects.
